Festival Ready (Or How I Crashed The Server With Too Many Pictures)

Post by Christine

I don't know about you but I've been salivating over Coachella pictures for the past week and a half. Free People also posted a pretty rad video of Coachella fashion which has caused my to shed both tears of excitement and tears of envy. My ultimate dream is to travel to the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Fesitval. I want to frolic among the celebrities, pull off laid-back hippie fashion, and most of all experience the beautiful music featured every year. Ahh a girl can dream...

Though I couldn't make it to Coachella this year, that doesn't prevent me and my friends from attending some kickbutt concerts and dressing up as festival kids. Like this past weekend, a group of us went down to Philadelphia to see Bassnectar.

I'm not really into electronic music, but at any point where there will be face paint, tutus, and good friends you can bet I'll be there.

To kick off the experience, the girls spent the 3 hour car ride making bracelets, headbands, and belts out of torn-up bandanas

Whenever we go to Philly we like to stay at the classiest circle hotels and cram as many people into one room as possible.

Of course while the boys lounge the girls are hard at work getting their concert makeup on. I did Kim's makeup as well as my own. I just used colored eyeliners and set it with the corresponding eyeshadow colors.

Isn't she gorgeous? And she made that flower headband the night before! The girl rocks.

Alaina's glitter looked crazy and her facepaint was glow-in-the-dark which was pretty much the coolest thing I've ever seen. Makeup that glows? I gotta get my hands on it.

And to conclude this ridiculously picture-heavy post I want to show you a picture of what I wore to the concert.

I got this teal tube top from Aerie on sale and wore my high-waisted jean shorts. I wanted to wear as little as possible without feeling uncomfortable because I knew it was going to be hot at the concert. I finished it off with a belt I made out of bandanas (tutorial to come soon!) and I colored my hair with these rad hair chalks my wonderful mother got me for Easter and then teased the heck out of it (yup, killed my hair and have been doing hair masks to counteract the damage).

It was a great way to end my semester. Now all I need to do is get through my finals eeek!

Does your style change once Summer and Festival season hit? What are your dream spots to hit each Summer?
