Waging War Against Bad Breath

Post by Christine

Steve: Woahh, you fssmell! Like, no joke, it's bad.Me: Ah, is it my breath?!?

Steve: Yeah, like seriously. Stop. Talking. I'm going to vomit.

As an avid coffee drinker, my battle against bad breath is ongoing. I brush my teeth regularly, flosh relatively often, and scrub my teeth to no end. Despite all of my efforts, how do I continue to have bad breath?

The mystery will always remain, but I do have some tips that I've been trying following to keep my breath minty fresh :)

Tip #1

Brush your teeth and floss regularly. I mean, duh. Brushing is obvious, but some people don't realize that flossing helps freshen your breath also. Food and bacteria caught between your teeth smell like butt, so no wonder your breathe smells like butt.

Tip #2

Drink lots of water! Water helps wash away any bacteria sitting on your tongue. Actually, add some lemon to that water and your breathe will be even fresher! No joke.

Tip #3

Chew on some ginger, basil, mint, or even an apple. The frist three are obvious because they will all freshen your breath because the flavor will overcome anything else in your mouth, but the apple was surprising to me too. Apples will help remove any other food stuck in your teeth and teh crispness will help to repel odor.

Tip #4

My new personal favorite, the OraBrush! It is basically a tongue scraper, but I have found it to be much more effective. Here's the description I got off of their website:

"Ultra-soft, pointed bristles reach deep into the uneven crevices of your tongue and loosen stinky bacteria. These bristles are designed after the surgeon's scrub brush, the same brush they use to clean bacteria from their hands before they cut you open. (Toothbrush bristles, however, are designed for the smooth surfaces of your teeth, not your tongue.) The scraper then collects and removes the bacteria and residue generated from brushing, helping cure bad breath."

You can view a cute youtube video here on the OraBrush and go to OraBrush.com to purchase yours. Also, and my favorite part about this whole thing, you can get your first OraBrush for free if you like them on FaceBook. I love free stuff :)

And those are my tips!

What do you do to combat bad breath?

Happy Spring Birthday!

Happy First Day of Spring!! I know everyone here in NYC is bursting with joy today because not only is it the first day of Spring, its also supposed to reach a high in the 70s today.

It is also  our Mom's birthday - so HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!  We love you so much! I know I speak for all of us when I say, we couldn't have dreamt up a better mother than you.  Your a constant for all of us - through motivation, love and support - we appreciate everything you do for us!  Without your encouragement, we would never be able to build this blog.  Your ability to be each of our best friends in the exact way we all need a best friend is incredible.  I wanted to take a look at all of the valuable lessons you have taught me so far:

Always wear blue.

Just Dance.

When it comes to deodarant, Dry Idea is the only option.

Never wear too much makeup.

You can never have too many pairs of shoes.

Never go to sleep angry.

You can be anything you want to be.

And the most important, "The only person you can always depend on is your sister."

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM! WE LOVE YOU!

Candle Particles

Post by Rachel

Last week, my parents were in London.

Can we say jealous much?

Of course, they brought all of us home some fantastic goods from the trip. One of my favorite, unique items are these little beads that serve as the base for candles. They look like little candle particles!

You simply fill up a votive candle holder or little jar with some of the particles, cut a wick to fit, insert it into the jar and light.

Voila! In 3.5 seconds you can have pretty, unique candles. I absolutely adore these colors.

I had these little glass holders just hanging around. I usually pop in a tealight, but it was fun to change it up, especially with such vibrant, Springy colors!

The wick burns down like any other candle and the cute little particles melt together just like wax.

So fun. So easy. And my personal favorite...so unique!

Now I just need to find these somewhere in the US so I can continually replenish them. Hmpf.

All in all a fantastic and fun souvenir from London! Thanks Mom!
