April Goals: Revisited

Post by Rachel

Happy Monday all! I'm struggling so badly this morning with allergies, over-exhaustion and fighting a weekend of eating {unhealthfully} for 48 hours. Ugh.

Meanwhile, I'm excited because today marks the end of April. And so I wanted to pull out my goals that I set at the beginning of the month to see how it all measured up!

1. Clean out the den.
{almost} done!
I cleaned out some letter boxes, chucked a bunch of binders containing super old files, and filed away the important stuff in Shaun's pretty filing cabinet. Work in there is far from finished but I feel like I made some great strides in paring down and were now on our way to a streamlined space. I love having all of our files in one spot and keeping only hard copies of the important stuff. I also updated my recipe binder, which is a major feat in itself!

2. Organize my desk drawers.

Done!
I cleaned out the junk, organized gift cards, coupons and files. I have a space for my camera and all of my cords are wrangled and easy to find. Success.

3. Make a decision on bedroom storage.
Done!
Not only did we decide to go with these ikea HOPEN dressers instead of an armoire, but Shaun built and installed all of them last week! I'm still doing the happy dance over this one! I'll show you pics once they are all organized with my new storage boxes. I also can't wait to get a nice mirrored tray for my perfumes and necklaces. Yay! I think I'm most excited about this development because it literally means that my life will now be better :)

4. Install a shelf for my cookbooks.
{sorta} done.
Ok so I didn't actually install a shelf over my kitchen office nook (yet). But! Since I cleaned out space in the den, I was able to line them up on the bookcase in there for easy access. Not too shabby if you ask me! It works for now and that's good enough for me.

I'm so happy to look back on this list and realize that I did in fact accomplish many of my April goals, and then some! I also did a full closet and drawer detox in the bedroom...

and Shaun got our terrace ready for the spring/summer by cleaning it up and planting some flowers and herbs:

So in hindsight, April was an incredibly productive month! I can't wait to now make goals for May!

What goals did you accomplish in April?

What goals do you have for May?

The Peach & The Pit of the Week

Oh hi there!

I think we've missed a few peaches and pits over the last couple weeks, but we're back today to share our highs and lows! We hope you'll join us in sharing your best and worst of the week!

Kimberly

Pit: Food hang over {one too many "red lemonades" at the bar + late night cheeseburger as your dinner} doesnt leave for a pretty feeling on Thursday morning, on top of that, work has been cray-zyyy. Running from court to court, sweaty crowded elevators and a never ending to do list has left me with my first set of bags - that would be undereye bags - not of the saddle variety, thank gawd.

Peach: Sticking with my Spring goals, I had a great night out with my college girlfriends on Wednesday - lots of gossip, lots of 50 Shades of Grey discussion and a little too much booze :) On top of that, I am officially in full Physique 57 mode and loving it.  I seriously cant get enough.  I have stayed consistent with it over the last two weeks and am definitely feeling the difference in my body.  Love it.

Rachel

Pit: hearing a random drip-drip-drip coming from our bathroom in the morning; a humid week = continuous bad hair; not getting to the gym even once this week; 50 Shades Darker obsession has left me wanting to do nothing else but read when I should be doing other things like hanging out with my husband, cleaning my house 'n stuff.

Peach: Finding a book I {like most women} cannot put down and if you read TAA you are probably SO OVER hearing this from me; having a long-overdue dinner with some old friends left me perma-smiling; my wonderful husband putting together all of our new dressers {which I simply cannot WAIT to show you on Monday!}; finding out that Fringe was renewed for one more season and I get more Joshua Jackson; getting ready for a fun, relaxing weekend ahead and spending time with friends tomorrow evening!

Now it's your turn!

What are your peaches and pits this week?!

Handpicked Peaches

Each week we round up a bushel of fresh links for ya!

Just discovered this baking blog and now all I can think about is making beautiful and whimsical cakes

We should listen to our dogs more often. They are wise beyond their (dog) years.

Too cute way a man tried to reconnect with his ex, I don't even care if it's real or not

I don't know how popular this blog is but it broke my heart many times today while reading it. So beautiful

What are you loving around the web this week?
